Evangelism

For many Christians, a first thought that comes with the word “evangelism” is Jesus’ Great Commission – “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)

A second thought would be; “Oh no! Don’t ask me to do “evangelism” – that’s the preacher’s job.

The reality we have lived into here at First Christian of Katy is that evangelism – a word that means “bringer of good news” – is every Christian’s job. It’s simply a matter of being willing to share with others the good news we’ve received as followers of Jesus and as members of the Body of Christ.

Our hope and prayer is that our every word, our every deed, our every relationship will reflect God’s love and shine forth the good news of Jesus Christ.
