When you make a financial donation toward the work First Christian Church Katy is doing, we don’t spend this money on lights and screens, elaborate buildings, or lavish pastor lifestyles. We put the money back into the community through justice and advocacy work.
Here are just a few of the things your donations support:
- Transparent Closet – Our FREE boutique for trans and exploring youth and young adults to get clothing and accessories in a safe environment
- KPLACE – our safe space that hosts local GSA groups and a monthly queer youth support group
- Katy Pride – helping build Katy Pride and hosting events in Katy bringing together the LGBTQ community and allies
- Scholarship Fund – awarding college scholarships to students in the Katy community involved in LGBTQ justice work
- Sponsoring Events – partnering with local entities to sponsor awareness events like the first ever fort bend county AIDS walk
- Education and Awareness – presence at houston area pride events, Tony’s Place, and more
- Advocacy – coordination with TXACLU, local media, county governments including Fort Bend County Queer Alliance, school board meetings and more
- Assistance – helping people in our community with needs such as food, financial assistance, and more.
