LGBTQ+

2 people enjoying LGBTQ+ friendly church service at FCC Katy

The LGBTQ+ community is regularly attacked and oppressed by both the government in Texas and by the Christian Church.

Countless people who identify as part of this community have been forced into conversion therapy, taught that celibacy is their only option, kicked out of churches, disowned by families, and told they are deviants, hellbound and not welcome in God’s family.

Despite this treatment, many LGBTQ persons still identify as Christians and crave a safe place they can worship, grow spiritually, serve and lead, and practice their faith in community without the expectation of changing who they are. Unfortunately, no other Church exists in Katy where this is a reality. We proudly wear the badge of being Katy’s first LGBTQ+ affirming church, but we also do not take it lightly.

While our church does not ONLY exist for the LGBTQ+ community, we recognize that we are filling a gap that doesn’t exist anywhere else. That is why we are unapologetic in over-communicating our stance and why we center much of our events and outreach toward the LGBTQ+ community. If you are willing to give church one more try, we invite you to try it with us.

For clarity, we don't just say that anyone can attend/serve and then try to change who you are.

We also don’t secretly hope and pray that you change who you are. We do not view you as a project to fix. Specifically in regards to the LGBTQ+ community, we do not believe it is a sin to be trans and receive gender-affirming care and we do not believe it is a sin to be in a same-sex relationship.
